The present survey throws light on the information resources and services etc. available in undergraduate college libraries of Chitradurga and Challakere towns. The study covers 10 different types of under graduate colleges. The present survey collected the data from 69 faculties of different disciplines regarding library resources, services, physical facilities and Internet and computerization of library services etc. It is concluded that no library surveyed is not developed as per the UGC norms especially with regard to automation/digitization of library services. Keywords

Study attempted to identify the authorship trend and collaborative research in Genetics and Plant Breeding, based on the data collected from the Indian Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding published during 1998-2002. The study reveals that two authors papers are maximum 215 (44.24%). The degree of collaboration in research is 0.87 in genetics and plant breeding as a whole and ranged between 0.86 to 0.89 during 1998-2002. The contribution from research institutions and laboratories i.e., 216 (44.08%) is vividly ahead of other segments such as universities and colleges. 475 articles contributed by the Indian authors and a significant percent i.e., 107 (22.49%) is reported from Delhi State. Keywords

The present investigation presents scientometric portrait of Nobel Laureate Yoshino Akira. Scientometric portrait studies deal with the biographical study of productive career of individual scientist. Yoshino Akira has contributed outstanding to the field of Chemistry in common and in specified to electrochemistry, in which he was awarded Nobel Prize for developing Lithium-ion Batteries. In his entire productive career he has collaborated with 1124 fellow scientists and has published 480 articles during 1989- 2019. Out of 480 publications 72.20% are journal articles, 14.16% are meeting abstract, 3.75% are letters, 3.54%are conference papers, 1.25% are notes, 0.62% are reviews and 0.41% are corrections. His main domains can be categorised as 7 domains namely; Medicinal Chemistry 46.66% publications toped in the list of domains, Biochemistry with 17.91% publications, in multidisciplinary 15.41% publications, Organic Chemistry 12.29%, Physical Chemistry 4.16% and Pharmacology 0.20%. It has been concluded that he is a source of inspiration for the upcoming generations in the field of Chemistry. Keywords

The present study examines the degeneration of web citations in scholarly journals of Library and Information Science, and Communication and Media Studies. The journals were selected based on their high impact factor published between 2008 and 2017. A PHP script was used to crawl the Uniform Resource Locators collected from the references. A total of 8,767 articles were downloaded and 3,97,140 references were extracted. A total of 71,289 URLs were checked for their availability. Further, the characteristic features of URL like file extension, path depth, character length and the toplevel domain were determined. The findings indicated that more number of URLs in LIS journal articles decayed than in Communication and Media Studies journal articles. The majority of errors in both the disciplines were HTTP 404 error code (Not found error). The findings of the study imply that authors, publishers and editorial staff need to ensure the availability of web resources before citing them. Keywords
